Russia has never put forward political conditions for gas supplies to Moldova, they have always agreed. This was stated by the former President of the country Igor Dodon.

„The statements of the current leadership of the country, represented by Maia Sandu, that they will not try to negotiate with Russia so as not to cede part of the country, sound more like accusations against Russia … Russia has never set such political conditions … You can just sit down and negotiate with Russia,” said the former head of Moldova.

Dodon stressed that the country is now in a difficult economic situation, which will worsen. However, the current authorities only „declare that they are ready to join some other sanctions,” the ex-president noted.
